Privacy policy.

This site is run by Yvonne Ben (“yvonne ben.”, “I”, “me”), based in London, Ontario, Canada. This policy explains what personal information I collect, why I collect it, who it’s shared with, and the choices you have.

I keep this simple on purpose: I collect only what I need to serve you, I don’t sell your information, and you can ask me to delete it at any time.

What I collect, and why

When you book a session

I collect your name, email address, the session type and time you choose, your timezone, anything you tell me in the notes field, your video call preference, and your consent choice about AI notetaking. I use this to confirm your booking, create your calendar invitation and meeting link, prepare for our session, and follow up afterward.

When you pre-order a Bou-Bou

I collect your name, email address, size, quantity, and whether you chose delivery or pickup along with your city. If your order is delivered, I’ll also collect your delivery address and phone number by email so I can get your order to you. I use this only to fulfil your order and keep you updated on it.

When you submit an event

I collect your name and email address along with the event details you provide. I use this to review your submission, publish the event if it fits, and contact you with questions.

When you join my email list

I collect your email address and note which part of the site you signed up from. I use this to send you event roundups and occasional updates. Every email includes an unsubscribe link, and you can leave any time.

When you contact me

If you email hello@yvonneben.com, I’ll have whatever you choose to send me, and I’ll use it to reply to you.

When you visit the site

Basic, aggregated analytics show me things like how many people visited a page and roughly where visitors came from. This is used to understand what is useful on the site. It is not used to build a profile of you.

What I don’t do

• I don’t sell, rent, or trade your personal information.
• I don’t send marketing email to people who haven’t asked for it.
• I don’t collect or store your payment card details on this site. Payments for orders are arranged directly with me, currently by Interac e-Transfer, and are handled by your bank, not by this website.
• I don’t knowingly collect information from children.

Who else handles your information

To run this site I use a small number of trusted service providers, who process information on my behalf and only for the purposes above:

• Lovable Cloud — website hosting and the database where bookings, pre-orders, event submissions, and email subscriptions are stored.
• Resend — sends the emails you receive from this site, such as booking confirmations and pre-order emails.
• Google Calendar and Google Meet — creates the calendar event and video link for booked sessions.
• HubSpot — holds my longstanding contact list and sends occasional updates to people who have connected with me or my ventures.
• Social media platforms — my homepage embeds public posts from Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, and Threads. When those embeds load, those platforms may receive your IP address and set their own cookies under their own privacy policies. I don’t receive any personal information from these embeds.

Some of these providers store or process information outside Canada, including in the United States, where local laws may allow authorities to access it in certain circumstances.

Cookies

This site uses cookies that are necessary for it to work, such as keeping your session active and protecting forms from spam. Basic analytics are used to count visits and understand which pages are useful. I don’t use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies. Embedded social media posts may set cookies from those platforms, as described above. You can block or delete cookies through your browser settings, though parts of the site may not work properly if you do.

How long I keep things

• Booking records: kept while we’re working together and for a reasonable period afterward for my business records.
• Pre-order records: kept until the order is fulfilled, and then for my business records as required for tax purposes.
• Email list: kept until you unsubscribe or ask me to remove you.
• Event submissions: declined submissions are removed periodically; published events remain on the site until they pass.

If you’d like your information removed sooner, just ask.

Your choices and rights

You can ask me to:

• tell you what personal information I hold about you,
• correct anything that’s wrong,
• delete your information, where I’m not required to keep it,
• unsubscribe from emails, any time, with no hard feelings.

Email hello@yvonneben.com and I’ll take care of it. If you’re not satisfied with how I’ve handled your information, you can contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada at priv.gc.ca.

Security

I take reasonable steps to protect your information, including working with reputable providers and limiting access to what’s needed. No website can promise perfect security, but I treat your information the way I’d want mine treated.

Changes

If this policy changes, I’ll update the date at the top. Meaningful changes will be noted on this page.
